With a lot of help from my friends…
Progress on our new album has been steady. All but one song is at some stage of instrumental tracking, and we have final lead vocals on many of them. One of the things that I’m most excited about for this one is all the great performances our friends are contributing. I have amazing bass tracks from both Tony Levin and Mike Mallory, great piano performances from Igor Len and Mary Crowell, and plan to have backing vocals from Mary and Michelle “vixy” Dockrey.
The latest contribution was last night – we had Kristoph Klover over to add a vocal to one of my songs. It was a great session, with lots of laughter, and of course utterly fantastic singing from Stoph. It was really amazing hearing his interpretation of my song. I have a ton of takes to sort through, and Maya and I will need to decide how to combine their vocals (they both sang pretty much the entire song, and we plan to have then alternate some lines, and sing together on some).
